Senior Software Engineer, DevAlly

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in building out our platform. Our existing stack is primarily a Node.js backend and Next.js frontend, but we are always open to new languages and tools that solve problems our existing stack can’t.

You’ll be joining early and contributing to our very first products, with significant ownership and technical influence. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the architectural and technical direction of a company right on the bleeding edge of the evolving web accessibility landscape.

What You’ll Do
- Own and deliver high-quality code across the product, including auditing, reporting, dashboards, AI-powered remediation, integrations, and developer tools.
- Translate complex accessibility and DevOps requirements into robust, scalable, and performant software solutions.
- Design, build, and optimize serverless first backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the Engineering organisation, Product Designers, Accessibility Experts and Customers to ship high-impact features quickly.
- Drive technical best practices, code quality, and maintainability across engineering.

You might be a fit if you:
- Have shipped complex, high-quality software with significant technical depth, specifically with Node.js and Next.js, or equivalent modern languages and frameworks.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail and a passion for crafting elegant full-stack solutions.
- Exercise strong architectural thinking and a user-first mindset, with experience iterating based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Can balance speed and craft – you know when to move fast and when to sweat every technical detail.
- Enjoy working closely with product, design, and accessibility experts; you're keen to serve as a technical working knowledge expert for our target users.

Extra Points For:
- Experience building developer tools or infrastructure platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA, AT testing) and their technical implications.
- Background or passion in AI/ML engineering or integrating AI into applications.
- Experience with building software on a cloud platform provider (AWS, GCP etc.)

- You need highly structured processes; our engineering efforts need to stay adaptive to the changing needs of the business as we grow.
- You’re not interested in building tools for developers or building software that solves accessibility challenges.
